Laughing Horse Enterprises is a small trucking company located in the heart of the Palouse country in the great state of Washington. Laughing Horse Enterprises is owned and operated by Eddie Clocks and Tracy Paine, a husband and wife team. We have been in business since August 2004.

Loads
Although we are based in the state of Washington, we primarily haul loads in the New England, New York, and New Jersey area. Approximately 80% of our dry van loads are "drop & hook." Our primary commodity is bottled water from Poland Springs, Maine.

Loads from Maine are pre-loaded into trailers and are picked up in Poland or Hollis Center, and shipped to points in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania.

Loads going back to Maine (back-hauls) consist of various dry goods and are picked up in NY, NJ, or PA.

All loads average about 350 miles one-way. A driver can typically haul 4-6 loads per week (2-3 round trips). The average miles for a typical work week, including dead-head miles, are approximately 2000. Miles will vary depending on load destinations.

We also have loads available from the New England area to South Carolina, and from South Carolina back to New England.

Compensation
Our drivers are paid 30% of their gross earnings. Owner-operators receive 90% of the gross they make. In the New England area the weekly gross per truck ranges from $2,000 to $3,500 all year long - that's 4-6 loads per week. Currently, the rate per mile is averaging $1.65.
